Leeds Town Hall

As you can see from the photo building work to Leeds Town Hall is well under way. Scaffold to the clocktower and main roof area has been completed, ready for the re-roofing to commence.

Art Gallery Handed Over

The Art Gallery part of our project at Leeds Art Gallery and Library has been handed over. Work is now proceeding on the Library section of this £2.8m scheme. The building is Grade 1 listed and is scheduled for completion towards the end of 2017.

New Projects

The following projects have recently commenced:- John Smeaton Leisure Centre, Leeds – Retiling of Swimming Pool and Associated Works – £150,000. Barkerend Primary School, Bradford – Extension and Refurbishment Works – £3,225,000. St James Hospital, Leeds – Gynaecology Ward Refurbishment – £500,000. Squash

Bermar recently sponsored a match night at Heaton Squash Club, Bradford. The Club First Team were playing Hull & East Riding First Team in the Yorkshire League. Our Construction Director Steven Ludkin played in the match, watched by his father (John).  The photograph features both teams.

Enabling works at Leeds Printworks.

Bermar has laid a 2600m2 concrete slab at Leeds Printworks. The project is for Leeds City College and is part of our YORbuild Framework. Works include sandblasting of internal brickwork, metal columns and balustrading, drainage and underfloor heating ducts. The project scheduled for completion in early July is valued at £500,000.

Bermar Highly Commended

Bermar has been Highly Commended ‘in recognition of our high standards of construction and workmanship’ by the Local Authority Building Control (West Yorkshire). Whetley Academy, Bradford

Works have been successfully completed at Whetley Academy, Bradford to provide additional mezzanine space. The project was valued at £440,000 and had to be carefully planned and executed as it involved structural works within an occupied school.

Huddersfield Railway Station – Water Tower

Bermar’s very successful conversion of this Grade I Listed Water Tower to Offices has been featured in the Annual Report of Railway Heritage Trust.
