Andy Bateman, has recently, passed away at the age of 64. He is one of our longest serving employees both as a carpenter and joiner and site foreman and will be missed by us all. His quiet, good nature was appreciated by everyone in the company.

Bermar currently has six apprentices; two bricklayers in year 3, four carpenters & joiners 1 in year 3, 1 in year 2 and two new apprentices starting year 1. We also have Mark Parkin on a Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management. All will be attending college this year at Keighley, Kirklees, Leeds and Preston.

Cullingworth Village Hall (new build) £870,000 was recently featured in the Telegraph & Argus and has been shortlisted for the West Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards. Following requests from our Clients, in particular our Framework Clients YORbuild, University of Bradford, Leeds Teaching Hospitals and City of Bradford MDC, we upgraded our Quality and Environmental UKAS certified schemes. Both have been successfully implemented and have recently been externally audited.
We are delighted that we have two new Apprentices starting this year. Matthew Heppleston has worked with us as a labourer since October 2013 and will commence a Carpentry & Joinery Mature Apprenticeship. The Leeds Art Gallery and Library project is now nearing completion. We handed-over the Art Gallery in April (photographed above) and now the Library is drawing to a successful conclusion.
