Cullingworth Community Centre

Client: Cullingworth Village Hall
Project Value:  £940,000

Project Details

This scheme comprised of the construction of the new Village Hall, on a green field site.

The works involved intensive groundwork, structural steel frame, blockwork, slate roof, natural stone and rendering, internal walls and doors, electrical & mechanical installation, floors and ceilings, drainage and external works.

The scheme was funded by the National Lottery and was subject to their quality checks. There were several different clients and parties involved, with a nursery, Café and the Village Hall Management all involved. We had to liaise with each party to ensure the building was designed and constructed to their various needs.

The site was at the end of a residential cul-de-sac, therefore, liaising and keeping the neighbours informed and happy was key to the project’s success. The road was kept clear and clean at all times. We formed a delivery and turning circle within the site boundaries to ensure all deliveries were taken directly onto the site.

Noisy work was limited to later in the day and deliveries were scheduled to avoid the busiest times of the day. There was also a busy doctor’s surgery and a large school nearby. We had several meetings with both parties to ensure they were kept informed and any of their needs catered for.
