Bermar Building were pleased to be involved in the recent improvement works at Byron Primary School

A project aligned with the strategic priorities set out by the Department for Education (DfE).

The works focused on four key areas:

  • Site resilience – including landscape interventions to improve the school’s ability to manage climate-related impacts;
  • Ventilation – delivering enhancements to building systems and air quality;
  • Energy generation – improving building efficiency and reducing carbon emissions;
  • Upgraded, energy-efficient ICT infrastructure – delivered by specialist partners.

In July, the school welcomed Stephen Morgan MP, Minister for Early Education, who visited to see the transformation first-hand.

Changes Made to the School

In addition to the building upgrades, the outdoor environment was transformed, creating a community orchard and wildflower meadow to promote biodiversity. These features not only enhance the landscape but also provide pupils with a valuable, hands-on connection to nature and sustainability.
