New MRI scanner arriving at Pinderfields Hospital

The new MRI scanner is the second MRI to arrive at the Hospital in the last few months.

This second scanner is a Phillips 3 Tersus MRI and provides more scanning options for the doctors and staff with sophisticated imaging procedures. This MRI weighs in just under 6 tonnes. The building had to be adapted to allow delivery through the corridors and placed carefully into the new MRI suite. As can be seen in the images this was a tight fit, but with careful design and planning, this was delivered safely and successfully. Bermar Building are the Principal Contractor, delivering the new extension and refurbishment that houses the 2 new MRI scanners and the associated suite to give patients a better service.
